You're nothing to me but baggage

Reputation Has Blunted Me

This is not a roman / ce, it doesn't deal with heroes.

I love Canadians. Or maybe I should be more specific and say Maritimers. If the weather is even remotely nice, they look for any excuse to wear shorts, flip flops, mini skirts or capris. I got to school and pretty much every single girl was wearing flip flops. If they were sensible like me, they wouldn't wear socks year round. The last class I was in smelled like sun tan lotion! Is that really necessary? No, it's not. It want to go to the beach! I want to eat hotdogs! I want to swim! Lately, there are two things I think about an awful lot more than I should. The first is having a baby, the second is hotdogs. It's really not like me at all. Whenever I see babies, I think about how much I would like to have my own or at least babysit for awhile. I don't know where this idea was originated but I looovveeee babies all of a sudden. I'm not saying i'm going to go get preg, but I feel very maternal and sentimental lately. Maybe it's spring and re-birth and blooming and blossoming or something. I think it's because babies look really cute this time of year. I like babiessssssssss. I just hope I don't have a blotchy baby; the kind that always has some sort of skin infection and they look all crusty. I like pale babies and pale babies only. I think this derives from the fact that I was a REALLY blotchy baby. My mom used to put bonnets on me as a distraction from my fat red face but it didn't work. Babies! I want hotdogs too.....all the time. Does anyone want to go to the Dawg Father this week? I have to do some studyng at Dal anyways, it wouldn't be complete without a trip to the D. F.

I really have nothing interesting to say. Point form:
-I saw "V for Vendetta" last night and really liked it.
-The Constantines are playing in a week!
-I love spring
-I have been eating non-stop
-I have stopped wearing pj pants and sweatpants everyday
-I really (really this time!) have pretty much quit smoking.

Does anyone have any suggestions for summer reading? Kathy? Jill? I am kind of fussy about books. I want something that has a fragmented narrative with a very prousy style to it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Today we spent class discussing the fundamentals of "love" and its emergence into a commodity in capatalist society. We discussed proposals and why they are so highly regarded. A girl told us that when her Dad proposed to her mom, he put the ring in the bottom of the bucket of a KFC family pack of chicken! I loved this; I hope I am that lucky. Maybe they could slip it around a lil' hotdog. I had a lot of coffee.

ALSO: WHEN WILL MONTE'S HAPPEN AGAIN? We need to find a date which will accommodate to the most people. I have been watching air-guitar videos and they have been getting me antsy! It we do go (in the near future), it is imperative that we have a theme! I want to have the rave theme but it seems to be getting old (we had raves all of last summer in Emily's basement). Although, maybe it could be recessitated, like tapered pants. Tapered pants are cool right? They aren't just hytertomy pants, they are a functional piece of attire! Anyways, MONTES......sooner rather than later!

P.S. Do you ever feel like everyone is just a little bit fake? I have been finding that a lot lately.

Sar, my feelings on tapered pants are that they only look good on sticky and/or anorexic people.
    Anything looks good on them.

    sarah sarah.

i wanna go to the beach too!

have you read that jeanette winterson book i bought you? or did you just borrow one from me...i don't remember. anyways, i've been reading another winterson book cause i haven't really felt like reading, and hers is so nice and easy to read. i like her style a lot, fragmented and pretty. sometimes its too sappy, but those parts are few. anyway, just a thought. i haven't read anything lately. my pile of books to read is growing rapidly...

have you read anything lately that you would recommend? something that i would like? something by a woman?

there are several things i would like to address here:

-obviously i am going to tell you to give ayn rand another chance.

    - i have the opposite feeling on babies: for some reason i like thinking about being pregnant and having a little pregnant belly and expecting and all that, but then if the baby came out i would drop it and RUN!! NO BABIES!!

-i am dieing for montes...perhaps we should wait until people are done school so EVERYONE will come? tapered pants is NOT a theme. you just want an excuse to wear your new jeans!

-summer...beach...yes please! the students in your class may have smelled like lotion because they were FAKE N BAKING! becuase that is why i smelled like it.

    !

i agree with nicole on waiting until school is over. then everyone will be in happy yes yes yes summer party mode.

i thought RAVE OR DIE was the theme.....
or we should have a colour theme
and do our makeup really bright and extravagant....paint lil things on our faces like flamingos and lollipops.
but i also still like the robot theme idea.
tin foil/cardboard robot costumes. imagine if everyone was wearing one. it would be AWESOME!

    n-e-wayz,
    i gotsta go gurl.
    c u latez.

    LUV UR SISTAH,
    emmy!

Kaffy: Read Janet Frame. She wrote "Faces in the Water" and it was absolutely brilliant. It kind of reminded me of what "Girl Interrupted" would have been like ideally. Also, I just read "Ana Historic" by Daphne Marlatt and liked it a lot although it's a really tough read. It's not really the type of book you can get lost in; it requires constant contemplation.

Emily and Nicole: We can do ROD but I think we need to do SOMETHING to enhance it! WE NEED TO TAKE IT TO THA EXTRREEEMMMMEEE. I am going to decorate myself with branches and glowsticks and stickers! WIK!
