Oompa Loompa
I went to see Charlie et la Factorie de Chocolat today. It was good. I think everyone should see it. My favorite part was when it showed all of the squirrels cracking the nuts. cute! I have spent a lot of money in the last few days. I went to see Jason's movie last night at Oxford theatre--awesome. Despite the fact that the threatre was crammed with obnoxious drunk high school boys and I receieved the cold shoulder from a certain someone, I had a good time. I liked seeing Krista up on the big screen in a costume circa the 17th century. I headed down to the Ale House to hang out with Josh and his friends and ran into a very drunk customer who seemed to think it appropriate to yell "Starbucks!" until I gave him an obviously aggravated nod. He somehow perceieved my ambiguious gesture as my glossing over genuine desire to talk with him. He apolojized for his rude behavior and shook my hand. It got sort of awkward and he was hanging out with some girl who was wearing a boa--also weird. All I could think about was how awkward it will be when I have to make him his tea in a few days. It's funny how location changes anything. I know people when they come into work but have little interest in them as soon as i'm out the door.
So after I went to the Ale house I came home and woke Erin up. We ended up chatting for awhile and she told me that she was planning on attending a service at a Catholic church in the morning. Being raised in a fairly Conservative Protestant household, I jumped at the chance. We walked up this morning. It was weird, I didn't understand when we were supossed to use the prayer stools and when people told me that "the peace of god is with me" I was confused. Erin took communion but I waited in my seat and watched the cutest little girl who looked and acted exactly as I pictured Krista would have as a little girl.
I signed up for some classes: Feminisms and their Literatures and Proof Writing and Rhetoric. I want to take Detective Fiction DESPERATELY but since it's only a 2000 level, i'm not allowed. I also wanted to take some Modern Fiction courses but I think I have enough Plath, Yeats, and Williams to last me for a very long time. I am contemplating doing an advanced major but it would mean another year here. However, it seems as though I might as well do SOMETHING to improve my status as Bacelor of Arts graduate. Everyone in the world seems to have that title. Anyways, thinking about the future is overwhelming and tiring and all I really want is to eat a Harvey's veggie burger.
It's nice to rant once in awhile.
